Comme des Garçons. Rei Kawakubo. Spring-Summer 1989. Divided culotte shorts in navy wool twill, cut to read as a skirt from the front and back. Full, softly flared legs split at center, a shape known in Japan as the "penguin" short. Straight waistband with offset button and side zip. Fully lined in cupra. Original hanger loops. Shown on the S/S 1989 runway beneath a cream pleated-peplum jacket and top hat. 100% Wool, lining 100% Cupra. Style ref GS-11001S. Size S. Made in Japan.
